Betting on the opening weekend of college football between two ranked teams is a tough challenge. Sportsbook Review has the Miami Hurricanes as three-point favorites. That feels like a line that protects books against either team truly falling flat. If LSU’s quarterback situation was a bit clearer, this game could have been as close to a “pick-em” as possible.

With both teams having questions at quarterback, and boasting potential NFL talent-laden defenses the over/under has been set at 48 points, per Bet365. This is surprisingly high at this point in the season with no other games to look at. Miami was a middle of the road offensive team a year ago scoring 29 points per game. LSU was a bit behind with 27 points per game. Meanwhile both defenses ranked in the top 30 nationally in points allowed per game. The under seems like a wise decision going into this big matchup.
