New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devils are in an interesting spot for this specific list and for a number of reasons. Jersey’s team is on the rise, and some of its top players haven’t been the most consistent performers on the ice year in, and year out.

However, the NHL’s 2018 Hart Memorial Trophy winner as the league’s most valuable player goes down as the top Devils’ skater that’s still searching for his first Stanley Cup championship.

Forward Taylor Hall not only recorded 93 points (39 goals, 54 assists) in 76 games last season, but the former first-overall selection (2010) increased his point-total from 2016-17 by 40 (53). Hall’s 93 points also act as the Devils’ third most points recorded in a season by a skater.

At the age of 26, it’s safe to say that the Calgary, Alberta native is in his prime and could potentially reach 100 points while donning a Devils’ sweater in the near future.

Though, last spring was Hall’s first appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Still, he didn’t disappoint considering he netted two goals and tallied four assists in five games played. Hall has won over the hearts of the Garden State’s faithful fan base, and is officially the new face of the franchise from here on out; which speaks volume to his uncanny play considering that the team has another first-overall selection on its roster with Nico Hischier (2017).

Hall has found the back of the net 191 times and tallied 283 assists for 474 career points in 529 games.
