Quarterback: Philip Rivers, Los Angeles Chargers

@ Buffalo Bills, Sunday 1:00 p.m.

FanDuel Cost: $7,400

Rivers had himself a big day in the first week of the season. That trend should continue this week as the Chargers take on the Buffalo Bills. The Bills had a horrible start to the year and look like one of the league’s worst teams.

Throwing Rivers in as your FanDuel quarterback will save  you some salary cap to use on other positions. However, you shouldn’t expect less production.

One major key to Rivers’ fantasy success this year will be the pass-catching ability of running backs Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler. These two are major weapons out of the backfield where the short passes serve as an extension of the running game.

Backup Option: Alex Smith, Washington Redskins

vs. Indianapolis Colts, Sunday 1:00 p.m.

FanDuel Cost: $7,100

Smith has a very favorable matchup in week two of the season. The Colts defense allowed the Cincinnati Bengals to move up and down the field this past week. Smith showed yet again that he is more than a solid fantasy option.

Using Smith at quarterback would be another cost saving move. His FanDuel price is very reasonable and will help you add some studs at other positions.
