Fantasy football 2018: top 10 waiver wire Week 3 pickups
By Rob Wilson
Primary Add: John Brown – 25% Ownership
The fact that John Brown is only owned in a quarter of ESPN leagues is borderline criminal. We highlighted Brown in last weeks article and his case was only strengthened when he had a gorgeous touchdown score on Thursday night. Brown has always been a talented player held back by his sickle cell condition but all signs point to him finally being fully healthy. Michael Crabtree hasn’t done anything to cement his status as the top dog in Baltimore so Brown isn’t going away.
His usage will be directly tied to which Joe Flacco we see this year but the lack of other options in the offense and the dedication to a strong running game leads to Brown seeing single coverage every week and there’s no indication that will change. This will be the last time I remind you to do this, so please do yourself a favor and add “Smokey” in every format.

Primary Add: Chris Godwin – 35% Ownership
Godwin is another guy that we highlighted in the week two waiver wire column so this will be more of the same. His usage spiked and a potential opportunity for him to be the number two was put to bed when Desean Jackson battled an injury and suited up. Godwin still saw a healthy number of targets and found the end zone, so he’s doing exactly what we had hoped he would do in the preseason. Jackson has always been a volatile player downfield so Godwin will likely see his role increase at some point during the season.
He’s a talented player in a constantly changing offense who had two very consistent weeks. Add him in all formats and give him a bump in standard leagues as someone who has a great shot to find the end zone every time he suits up. Keep an eye on how things go under center, because Jameis Winston seemed to love Godwin even more than Fitz does.
