A 35-6 loss to West Virginia continued Kansas State’s issues against the Power Five, as they also fell to Mississippi State by three touchdowns in Week 2. It’s behind an offense that’s struggled to score at times, with Skylar Thompson and Alex Delton unable to power through opponents.

Against the Mountaineers, the Wildcats eclipsed 200 yards passing, but it did not result in a touchdown. The running game found no success, either, Alex Barnes’ 49 yards as the leader in the clubhouse on 12 carries.

The schedule will not ease up on Bill Snyder’s squad, who faces Texas in their next game. Can they move over .500 in a return home?

Baylor finds itself at 3-1 after four weeks of play. It’s somewhat remarkable after the events of the 2017 season, so to already have three wins—even against lower-end teams, should be a win for this group. They sit halfway to a bowl game, as well.

ACU, UTSA and Kansas won’t be Baylor’s opponents for the rest of the season, however, as Texas, TCU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and West Virginia are among the teams that remain on the schedule. It might be difficult to find more than two wins there, unless they sneak one against the Cowboys or Horned Frogs at home.

For now, the Bears will go on the road to face Oklahoma on Saturday, Sept. 29. Will this become the surprise of the week and result in a fourth win?
