6. Fresno State Bulldogs (Mountain West Conference) 3-1

Fresno State continues to play good football every week without much attention. Facing a solid Toledo team in Week 5, the Bulldogs faced a 13-7 deficit early in the second quarter. In the next 25 minutes of game time, Fresno ran up six touchdowns, putting the game out of reach at 49-13 by the end of the third quarter.

Bulldogs quarterback Marcus McMaryion continues to have a great senior season. He threw for 368 yards and accounted for five touchdowns in this game. Sophomore running back Jordan Mims also showed out for Fresno St., finishing with six catches for 126 yards, 59 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Up next: Saturday at Nevada.

5. Cincinnati Bearcats (AAC) 5-0

Cincinnati is back in the rankings after a big 49-7 win over UConn. The Bearcats are one of only nine 5-0 teams in all of college football, and the only one that isn’t ranked–the next lowest is Kentucky, who is ranked no. 13.

Cincinnati dominated UConn on the road Saturday, more than doubling the Huskies in total yards, 659-266. The Bearcats running game continues to overwhelm opponents. They had 320 yards on the ground in this one. Michael Warren led the team again, with 106 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.

Quarterback Desmond Ridder had 270 yards passing, 47 yards rushing and three total touchdowns. The win means Cincinnati has already surpassed their 2017 win total when they finished with a record of 4-8.

Up next: Saturday vs. Tulane.
