4. Take Green Bay -1 at Detroit

Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy may not be on the same page right now, but betting against the Packers offense doesn’t seem like a very wise decision. Green Bay should be able to score points against the Lions defense on Sunday.

The challenge here is that Detroit should be able to put up points too. Matthew Stafford might have the best collective group of wide receivers in the NFL. The Packers secondary isn’t going to be able to cover Golden Tate, Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay all game long. In other words, you should expect a shootout.

This game all boils down to which quarterback you trust most. The fact that the game is in Detroit does make it a close call. Stafford has a real tendency to play well at home. The Patriots found that out the hard way a couple of weeks ago.

It’s still foolish to bet against Rodgers. He’s arguably the best quarterback in the NFL and he’s got plenty of weapons at his disposal too. Look for his negative comments about his offense’s performance against the Bills last week to lead to a much better effort on Sunday. We like the Packers here, but by a very narrow margin.
