Loser: Georgia Bulldogs (No. 2 down to No. 8)

All Georgia had to do was go into Baton Rouge and steal a win from an angry LSU team. Easy, right? Obviously nothing in the SEC comes easy and clearly nothing makes sense anymore either.

Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs didn’t quite play to their ranking on Saturday evening, falling to LSU 36-16. The Tigers dominated on both sides of the ball and they actually looked like the second-best team in the country and a sure playoff favorite. Roles were reversed in Baton Rouge and the Bulldogs saw their No. 2 spot in the AP Top 25 disappear.

No one is counting Jake Fromm and Georgia out of the playoff race just yet, but this wasn’t a good look for the team.

Georgia gets Florida, Kentucky and Auburn in consecutive games, so things don’t get much easier from here. The Bulldogs will need to win out to stay alive both in the SEC East race but also in the College Football Playoff.

Should the Bulldogs consider giving Justin Fields time under center or will Fromm rebound? It was a tough week for Georgia, but it’s not time to overreact just yet.
