9. Ben Watson, TE, New Orleans Saints

Speaking of the barren tight end landscape, Watson was dropped a bit in fantasy leagues heading into a Week 6 bye. He is still TE20 in ESPN PPR scoring though, with at least three catches in four of five games.

Week 7 does not look like a great matchup for Watson, as the Baltimore Ravens are in the top 12 of the league against tight ends (ESPN PPR scoring). But facing the Tennessee Titans without Delanie Walker in Week 6 helped, and they allowed 14 receptions and 188 yards to tight ends over their two games prior to that.

Watson doesn’t have great upside and he’s got a doughnut in the touchdown column so far this year. But among tight ends that aren’t the top tier he’s solidly unspectacular, and will at least put something on the stat sheet every week. Especially in PPR leagues, having a bye week already behind him boosts Watson’s appeal as a fantasy waiver wire add.
