FanDuel NFL 2018: Week 7 lineup
Wide Receivers: Kenny Golladay, Detroit Lions- $7,000; Dede Westbrook, Jacksonville Jaguars- $6,000 & Taylor Gabriel, Chicago Bears- $5,900
In order to afford the two highest priced running backs in Week 7, I had to spend wisely at the wide receiver position. Golladay, is my most expensive wideout priced at $7,000. Prior to their bye week, the Lions defeated the Green Bay Packers easily.
Golladay caught four passes for 98 yards and one touchdown in the teams 31-23 victory. He is slowly emerging as Matthew Stafford’s number one target. Through five games, Golladay has compiled 27 receptions, 428 yards and three scores.
His three touchdowns are tied for most with Golden Tate. He trails Tate for the most receptions by seven and only has three less receiving yards than the veteran wideout. Golladay leads the team with 15.9 yards per reception.
Golladay and company travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins this week. The Dolphins have surrendered 1,061 yards to receivers, 10th most in the NFL. Quarterbacks are averaging 8.1 yards per attempt, 27th in the league.
Jacksonville’s wide receiver core is led by Westbrook. He leads the team in receptions (27), yards (387) and is tied with the most touchdowns (2). He is also averaging just over 14 yards per catch. The second-year wideout has nine catches for over 20 yards, tied for 5th most with Emmanuel Sanders and Julio Jones.
Westbrook was responsible for the Jaguars’ lone touchdown last week against the Dallas Cowboys. This week against the Houston Texans, Westbrook will face a tough challenge. The Texans have allowed the ninth fewest yards to receivers. However, Westbrook is a big play waiting to happen.
The Chicago Bears fell to the Miami Dolphins last week, 31-28 in overtime. Despite the loss, Gabriel shinned again. He caught all five of his passes for 110 yards. Gabriel has posted a 100% catch percentage and 100+ yards in consecutive games.
Gabriel never posted a 100 yard game in his career until this season. Now, he is becoming Mitch Trubisky’s go-to guy. Similar to Westbrook, he leads the team in almost every receiving category. He has been effective in the red zone, snagging four of five catches and scoring twice.
Chicago returns home this week to take on the New England Patriots. New England’s secondary has allowed nine touchdowns, tied for third most in the NFL. Trubisky will have plenty of opportunities to air the ball out and will use Gabriel as a deep threat, as well as inside the 20.
