When Jimmy Garoppolo blew out his knee earlier in the season, you knew this San Francisco 49ers offense was going to struggle, but they were on another level on Sunday. Hitting the road to take on the Arizona Cardinals, the 49ers could muster only 15 points against one of the worst teams in football, as they fell to 1-7 on the season.

This week, the 49ers will be right back in action, as they take on Bay Area rival Oakland on Thursday Night Football. That could be the lowest-rated game in the history of primetime football, but here we are, as both teams appear headed to draft very early in the 2019 NFL Draft.

For San Francisco, their defense actually played well against the Cardinals on Sunday, that was until the fourth quarter, where they allowed two touchdown throws from rookie quarterback Josh Rosen. They need to be able to get after the quarterback, and adding a guy like Nick Bosa at the top of the first round next April is the way to go.

When it comes to pure talent, there is no better player than Bosa in this draft class, and the 49ers need to make the right decision here. General manager John Lynch is former defensive player, so it is hard for me to see him scout Bosa all offseason, and then pass on someone with his skill level in the first round.
