3. player. 28. . Defensive Tackle. Houston. Ed Oliver

The Oakland Raiders have three first round picks in the 2019 NFL Draft, and that will give the team a good opportunity to really shore up their issues on the defensive side of the ball. During the 2018 NFL Draft, the Raiders brought in two defensive tackles in Maurice Hurst and PJ Hall, but it has not helped much in their run defense through the first half of the season.

Sitting at No. 3 overall, it may be too hard for the Raiders to pass over Ed Oliver, who is one of the premier talents in this year’s draft class. Oliver could enable the Raiders to be a lot more flexible along the defensive line, and with so much draft capital the rest of the way, they could grab an elite edge rusher in the first half of the first round as well.

Oliver is a guy who can make plays happen in the backfield, and he is an elite tackler against the run. The Raiders were blown away by the rushing attack of the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, and until they are able to fix the deficiencies on that side of the ball, it is going to be very hard for this team to win games.

Hopefully, Jon Gruden knows what he is doing, because he has stripped this team of a lot of the players who helped the organization get to 12-4 only two years ago. The Raiders have five first round picks over the next two year, and that is a good thing, because this roster has way too many holes in it as we move to Week 9.
