College football scores, Week 10: Takeaways for every Top 25 team
6. Georgia (34-17 UK) – The SEC East crown remains in Athens after D’Andre Swift ran for a career-high 156 yards and two touchdowns. Elijah Holyfield added 115 yards and a touchdown as the Bulldogs punched their ticket to the SEC Championship Game.
7. Oklahoma (W 51-45 TT) – Kyler Murray threw two early interceptions that led to a 14-0 deficit. He overcame the early mistakes to finish with 360 passing yards and three touchdowns and 100 rushing yards and a touchdown. Trey Sermon had a game-high 206 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
8. Ohio State (W 36-31 NEB) – The defense struggled again, Dwayne Haskins had a subpar game and the offense had three turnovers. The good news is J.K. Dobbins ran for a season-high 163 yards and had three touchdowns. Mike Weber added 91 yards on nine carries on an afternoon Haskins played his worst game as a starter.
9. Kentucky (L 34-17 UGA) – Josh Allen recovered a pair of fumbles to keep Kentucky close early but couldn’t stop the Georgia running game. The Wildcats allowed 331 yards on the ground while Benny Snell was limited to 73 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. They’re still alive for a spot in a New Year’s Six Bowl, most likely the Fiesta Bowl.
10. Washington State (W 19-13 Cal) – Gardner Minshew was held out of the end zone all game before throwing the game-winning touchdown to Easop Winston Jr. with 32 seconds left to break the tie. Cougars control their destiny in the Pac-12 North.
11. Florida (L 38-17 Missouri) – The Gators led 3-0 midway through the first quarter before Missouri scored five of the game’s next six touchdowns in what is easily the worst loss of Dan Mullen’s tenure. Feleipe Franks was benched in favor of Kyle Trask who quickly led a touchdown drive. He could be the starter moving forward.
12. UCF (W 52-40 TEM) – McKenzie Milton returned to the lineup from his ankle injury and threw for 312 yards and accounted for four touchdowns. The Knights extended the nation’s longest winning streak to 21 games but the defense didn’t win them any style points.
13. West Virginia (W 42-41 TX) – Will Grier had his Heisman moment, throwing a 33-yard touchdown with 16 seconds remaining and then running in the subsequent two-point attempt. The Mountaineers control their destiny in the Big 12. They’ll host Oklahoma in the regular season finale.
14. Penn State (L 42-7 UM) – James Franklin’s team has lost three of their last five and needed a touchdown with 1:59 to avoid the shutout. Trace McSorley was 5 of 13 for 83 yards and an interception while running for his life vs. the Michigan defense who wasn’t slowed by the Penn State offensive line.
15. Utah (L 38-20 ASU) – The Utes lost sole possession of first in the Pac-12 South and lost quarterback Tyler Huntley for the season with a broken collarbone.
