Once near the top of the Big 12, conference play has not proved positive for TCU football. They sit at 2-4, with a 4-5 overall record, after recent losses to Texas Tech, Kansas and Oklahoma. It has them on the brink of missing a bowl game, as defeats in two of their last three matchups would end this.

Their most recent game came against Kansas State, 14-13, the third time in their last three games of a point differential of three or fewer. It’s the difference between them at 6-3 to where they are now at 4-5.

Games still remain against West Virginia, Baylor and Oklahoma State. Not the easiest schedule, and it doesn’t guarantee a spot past the regular season.

Baylor found arguably its best win of the season, even at a 5-4 record and the majority of the way into 2018. It was after a lopsided defeat to West Virginia and a six-point loss to Texas in the previous two weeks.

A 35-31 victory pushed the Bears forward and one step closer to a bowl game. It’s still with a weak track record, given four of their wins happened against ACU, UTSA, Kansas and Kansas State. Oklahoma State is a worthy opponent but doesn’t make up for their soft schedule from the season’s first half.

Iowa State, TCU and Texas Tech remain to close out the year. Will Baylor find a win and become bowl-eligible?
