Start: Philip Rivers, Los Angeles Chargers

@ Oakland Raiders

Philip Rivers is having himself yet another fantastic season. He continues to play at a high level despite his age. His ability to continue to be a high volume scorer in fantasy leagues is something else that stands out.

Rivers should continue his strong season this week against the Oakland Raiders. Jon Gruden’s bunch has had a tough go of it and things aren’t close to turning around. In fact, they just recently cut ties with one of their top pass rushers Bruce Irvin.

The Los Angeles Chargers are in the middle of a tight playoff race and need this win. They can’t afford to have a let down which means they will turn to Rivers for stability.

Sit: Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers

vs. Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers have been on a roll since trailing the Philadelphia Eagles 17-0 a few weeks ago. They were able to pull off the come from behind win in that game and have keep that momentum going.

A lot of their overall success can directly be linked to the strong play of their defense. This unit ranks in the middle of the road for most defensive passing stats, but have been playing better of late.

Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers offense have their work cut out for them this weekend.
