4. Take the Patriots -6.5 at Tennessee

The second half of the 2018 season is here and that means it’s time for Bill Belichick and the Patriots to start cranking their play up. That’s bad news for a Titans team in desperate need of a home victory.

New England knows it can’t afford to drop games like this if it wants to earn home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Some years that doesn’t matter to the Patriots, but Tom Brady and company don’t want their road to the Super Bowl to go through Kansas City this season. That makes beating the Titans a necessity.

There’s also the small detail of a quarterback battle between Tom Brady and Marcus Mariota. Obviously, that’s a huge advantage for the Patriots. The fact that New England’s defensive line looked so good last week against Bills should also make the Titans really nervous.

In the end, we think Mariota can make a few big plays against the Patriots defense, but the lack of a consistent running game is going to cause them to be inconsistent. New England will have no such issues on the other side of the ball. They will score plenty of points against the Titans defense. Leave the line alone here, but back Brady to give you enough points to win.
