9. Duke Johnson, Cleveland Browns vs. Atlanta Falcons

This is probably the last week where Duke Johnson can be considered a sleeper pick at the running back position, because fans will shortly realize that he’s a valuable weekly fantasy football play, despite being only the second running back on the depth chart.

It’s been difficult for the Cleveland Browns to find efficiency out their pass-catchers this season. Jarvis Landry is among the league leaders in targets, but he’s hauled in just 54.5% of his receptions. Landry needs more help around him, and Johnson seems to be the guy to solve that problem.

In Week 9, Cleveland unleashed Johnson in the passing game, as he led the team with nine receptions for 78 yards on nine targets, with two of those receptions going for touchdowns. Johnson’s emergence seemed to help Landry, too, as Landry posted his highest catch rate o the season in the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Johnson gets an even more appealing matchup against the Falcons in Week 10, as Atlanta is allowing 65.5 receiving yards per game to running backs. They’ve been reeling defensively since losing Deion Jones and Keanu Neal to early season injuries, and Johnson could easily take advantage of this. If he gets more carries this week behind Nick Chubb, he could produce chunks of yardage, too, against a defense that allows 4.8 yards per carry.
