8. Mike Davis, Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams

When the Seattle Seahawks face the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon, it will be one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the week, and the Seahawks will need running back Mike Davis to come up big if Chris Carson is unable to suit up.

The Rams run defense is the biggest vulnerability in this Super Bowl-contending team, and the Seahawks will want to expose them. Michael Thomas owned the Rams with a 200-receiving yard day in Week 9, as he helped the New Orleans Saints hand the Rams their first loss of the campaign. While suddenly burn-prone “press” corner Marcus Peters will look to step up his game in Week 10, there’s a possibility Seattle will test him after the Saints feasted on his coverage with Thomas.

It’s worth noting that Alvin Kamara had just as big of a game against Los Angeles in Week 9, and the Seahawks have run the ball with surprising success over the past several weeks, largely thanks to a much-improved offensive line. This season, Davis has broken out for the Seahawks with 4.3 yards per carry as a steady option behind Carson.

Even when Carson plays, Davis “gets his”, and he’s become a somewhat reliable sleeper option for fantasy owners in search of any decent option at running back. Just last week, Davis carried the rock 15 times for 62 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers with a surprisingly robust seven receptions for 45 yards, so he looks like a valid option against the Rams.
