Rashaad Penny, RB, Seattle Seahawks

It has been a real roller coaster ride for the Seattle Seahawks backfield. They just haven’t been able to find one back capable of staying healthy and producing. This has made it extremely difficult for fantasy owners.

Rashaad Penny entered the year as a sleeper pick and a potential every down back. However, his slow start opened the door for Chris Carson to seize the main workload. Carson held onto that role after a string of strong performances.

However, he has struggled to stay healthy which has forced the Seahawks to turn to other options. That has been Penny and Mike Davis in recent weeks.

Penny is in no way guaranteed a heavy workload moving forward. In fact, it’s very likely that Carson regains his lead role once he’s healthy. However, the Seahawks did invest a 1st round pick in him which shows they believe in his talent.

This late in the season adding Penny as a high upside play makes sense. He’s someone who could be a real factor when it comes fantasy playoff time. Everybody could use someone with RB1 potential.

It would especially make sense for the Carson owner to target Penny. His lack of success to this point means there’s a good chance he’s available in your league.
