4. Everton win at Anfield for first time since 1999

If it wasn’t enough that there’s the north London derby on Sunday, Premier League fans will also be treated to the latest installment of the Merseyside derby. Everton travel to Anfield looking to pick up a rare win in this fixture.

The Toffees record in the derby is truly horrendous with their last win coming back in 2010 when Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta scored in a 2-0 win at Goodison. In order to find Everton’s last win at Anfield you have to go all the way back to 1999.

This derby has not been kind to Everton fans but now they are looking like a much more competitive side. They’ve got good players throughout their squad that can really challenge this Liverpool defense.

Richarlison, Theo Walcott and Gylfi Sigurdsson all have the ability to change any game and Marco Silva should look to them to lead their team on Sunday. However, it may not be a surprise to see Cenk Tosun starting in order to give his fellow attackers more time and space.

Tosun could prove a big enough distraction for Virgil van Dijk, and whoever he partners with, so that the likes of Richarlison and Sigurdsson get more freedom. Given the proper amount of time on the ball these players can win the match for Everton.

Liverpool’s central midfielders may be given the task of helping out their center-backs by monitoring Everton’s more attack-minded players. Naby Keita could come into the starting lineup to provide more quality in what should be a very close encounter.

Liverpool don’t concede many goals but Everton will find a way to the back of the net this weekend. It’s hard to see the Toffees not conceding though, so they’ll come away with a 2-1 win and all three points for the first time since 1999.
