High Value PG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Derrick Rose (vs HOU – $6,100): Needs 25.5 fantasy points. Rose was up to 32 fantasy points against the Celtics on Dec. 1. It looked like he was stumbling after games against the Cavaliers and Spurs, but nope. MVP Rose is still in the building. The Rockets are good when healthy, but I’m still not entirely sold on the defense. And Rose never lacks for chances in the Minnesota offense. Diagnosis: Good salary and a high ceiling.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (at NO – $6,000): Needs 25.1 fantasy points. SAG was down to 14.2 fantasy points against the Mavericks on Sunday. Not a ringing endorsement for him heading into Monday’s game, but he had been playing well prior to the Mavs game and still gets the minutes to produce. He’s a rookie, he’s going to be inconsistent. But the Pelicans are a good matchup and SAG has earned some trust early in the season. Diagnosis: Salary will scare off a lot of people after his performance on Sunday. But the matchup is good.

Emmanuel Mudiay (vs WAS – $5,000): Needs 20.9 fantasy points. Mudiay has been all over the place with his production this season. He was up 42.1 fantasy points against the Bucks on Dec. 1. But he always has a high bust factor, which always makes him a bit of a risk. The Wizards a great matchup since they don’t play any defense. Diagnosis: A risk, but very high reward. Trust the matchup, but proceed with caution.
