DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 6, 2018
High Salary PG
Players costing over $6,250
Damian Lillard (vs PHO – $10,100): Needs 46.6 fantasy points. Lillard followed up his 61 fantasy point effort against the Spurs with 57 fantasy points against the Mavericks. The Blazers are still sliding right now, but Lillard has been excellent. And nothing helps a team break out of a slump like a game against the Suns. This will be an easy win for the Blazers and an easy game for Lillard. Probably a little too easy. Diagnosis: High ceiling and a great matchup. But this is a high salary for a guy who may play less than 30 minutes.
Kyrie Irving (vs NY – $9,000): Needs 41.5 fantasy points. Irving was down to 37.25 fantasy points against the Timberwolves on Dec. 1. The assists have been there for the most part, which is a good sign, but his scoring has ticked down. I have no concerns about his scoring on Thursday given the matchup. Irving had 58.5 fantasy points against the Knicks on Nov. 21. He’ll deliver. Diagnosis: Minutes are a slight concern as this could be a blowout. But he’s a better option than Lillard given the salary.
Ricky Rubio (vs HOU – $6,400): Needs 29.5 fantasy points. Rubio has been over 33 fantasy points in his last two games. He can fall off at a moments notice, but the production recently has been encouraging. The Rockets are still struggling defensively, which helps Rubio’s cause on Thursday. Diagnosis: He’s inconsistent, but he’s playing well and the matchup is solid enough. A slight risk due to his inconsistency.
