High Salary PG

Players costing over $6,250

Kemba Walker (at NY – $8,500): Needs 39.2 fantasy points. After being held under 30 fantasy points in back-to-back games, Kemba was back up to 43 fantasy points against the Nuggets on Dec. 7. And now he gets the Knicks. The Knicks are terrible and Walker should have a big scoring and assist game. The only concern is a blowout because the Hornets offense is good and the Knicks are on a back-to-back. Diagnosis: It’s Kemba against the Knicks. He’ll get big numbers.

Kyle Lowry (vs MIL – $7,600): Needs 35.1 fantasy points. Lowry has been under 26 fantasy points in his last two games. Simply put, shots are not going in. He’s getting his assist numbers, but he’s been held to 10 points or less in four straight games. At some point, the lid will come off the basket. When that happens, he’s going to be a huge steal because his salary keeps dropping. But who knows when it will happen. Diagnosis: A slight risk, but a big reward if his shot starts to fall. It’s just tough to know when the shots will start to fall.

Ricky Rubio (at SA – $6,300): Needs 29.1 fantasy points. Rubio had 27.75 fantasy points against the Rockets on Dec. 6. Prior to that, he had 33.25 fantasy points against the Spurs on Dec. 4. He’s been playing well as of late and remains at a reasonable salary. The Spurs defense is awful and Rubio should be able to carve them up with his scoring and playmaking. Diagnosis: Turning into a reliable option with a good ceiling. Matchup is good and proven.
