5 possible new teams for Joe Flacco in 2019
3. Denver Broncos
Since Peyton Manning’s last season, the Broncos have gotten lackluster quarterback play. Case Keenum has become Case Keenum again this year, as he currently sits outside the top 20 in passer rating, completion percentage, yards per game and yards per attempt.
Head coach Vance Joseph may want more and something closer to the 2017 Minnesota Vikings version of Keenum, but it’s not going to happen.
The Broncos are set to be in the top-half of the league in cap space for next season, so they could take on Flacco’s contract as is via a trade.
Keenum’s contract would not necessarily prevent him from being cut and outright replaced, and veteran competition could be brought in fairly seamlessly.
Broncos general manager John Elway has continually not gotten the quarterback position right, and he may get one more chance to draft one early next spring.
But if the feeling within the organization is the team can regroup, reload a bit and compete next year, a move to add Flacco would fit that plan.
