Cornerback. LSU. Andraez Williams. 4. player. 42.

The San Francisco 49ers lost their grip on the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft this past weekend, as they finally were able to get a victory over the Seattle Seahawks. In one of the bigger upsets on the Week 15 slate, the 49ers got another solid effort from Nick Mullens, who continues to look like a legitimate NFL quarterback.

While the victory was sweet, it did damage their chances of getting the top pick, and grabbing Nick Bosa, who would really help their pass rush. This 49ers team has a bunch of talent on it, but has really struggled since losing starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to a season-ending knee injury early in the year.

When it comes time for them to draft next April, they should be firmly in the top-5, and should still look to bolster the defensive side of the ball. One player who could really help them in the defensive backfield is Andraez Williams from LSU, who is by far the best cornerback this draft class has to offer.

This past offseason, the 49ers went out and signed veteran Richard Sherman, but his days as an elite cornerback in this league are behind him. Williams is a player they could plant in the starting lineup from day one, and in the NFC West, he would be good insurance against passers like Russell Wilson, Josh Rosen, and Jared Goff.
