FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 20, 2018
High Salary SF
Players costing over $6,667
Josh Richardson (vs HOU – $7,500): Needs 31.1 fantasy points. Richardson has bounced back after a rough stretch and been over 34 fantasy points in his last two games. The scoring should be there and he does enough in other categories to at least get you value. And with the injuries, the scoring opportunities are going to be there. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
Danilo Gallinari (vs DAL – $7,000): Needs 29.1 fantasy points. Gallinari is always a reliable option. And at home against the Mavericks, he should be more than reliable. Expect a big scoring and good rebounding outing from him on Thursday. He had 34.7 fantasy points against the Mavericks on Dec. 2. Diagnosis: I like him more than Richardson at a cheaper cost.
High Value SF
Players costing $6,667 or under
Harrison Barnes (at LAC – $5,800): Needs 24.1 fantasy points. Barnes was up to 40.8 fantasy points against the Nuggets on Dec. 18. His value is still largely tied to his scoring, but maybe the Nuggets game was the start of a nice run for him. The Mavericks are better at home than on the road. Diagnosis: Inconsistent but a high ceiling with his scoring. Not sure the points will be there, but he’s a worthwhile risk.
Derrick Jones Jr (vs HOU – $5,200): Needs 21.6 fantasy points. The minutes are going down for Jones Jr, but the production is still there. He’s a decent scorer but he’s really getting it done with his rebounding. With the injuries, his minutes might be up in this one. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling. I think he’s in for a strong night.
