High Salary SG

Players costing over $6,667

James Harden (at MIA – $12,400): Needs 51.7 fantasy points. There is still no reason to doubt Harden. It’s a back-to-back and the Rockets now have to go on the road, but I’m not betting against this man right now. He needs a big game and he’ll give you a big game. Diagnosis: It’s an unstoppable version of James Harden.

Luka Doncic (at LAC – $8,200): Needs 34.2 fantasy points. Luka has been over 46 fantasy points in three of his last four games. If nothing else right now, he’s a reliable player. The concern is that the Mavericks are going on the road, where he has struggled. But he’s hot right now and he’s the one rookie I really don’t worry about. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

High Value SG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Wesley Matthews (at LAC – $5,100): Needs 21.3 fantasy points. Matthews has been over 24 fantasy points in his last two games. He’s an inconsistent player, but he typically gets the minutes, which is the good news. He had 27.2 fantasy points against the Clippers on Dec. 2. He’ll get the shots, but I’m not feeling him too much on Thursday. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a decent ceiling.

Dwyane Wade (vs HOU – $4,400): Needs 20.4 fantasy points. If Winslow, Johnson, and Dragic miss this game and Waiters isn’t read, Wade is going to have the ball in his hands a lot. If that’s the case, I expect Wade to deliver a strong game. The Rockets are on a back-to-back and had to travel. Diagnosis: Circumstances could mean a big game for Wade.
