4. Oakland Raiders

Time for a little curve-ball here. As previously mentioned, teams need wins for various reasons. Typically in Week 16 a team needs a win to lock down a playoff berth or clinch a division title, so how do the Raiders fit in this category when they are 3-11?

Well, they don’t, but they need a win for a different reasons.

This may be the final game ever played in the Oakland Coliseum. The City of Oakland is suing the franchise for damages after finalizing their future move to Las Vegas, and this lawsuit is pushing the Raiders out of Oakland a year before they had planned to.

The first game played in the Coliseum was in 1966, way back when the Raiders were in the AFL. Over 50 years later, we may be witnessing the final football game ever played in the historic stadium.

The loyal fans in Oakland deserve to see their team win one last time at home before leaving “The Town” for greener pastures.

In front of the Black Hole one last time, the Raiders need to win for their fans and the City of Oakland. Monday Night Football on Christmas Eve, the stage is set. Even better, they are hosting the Broncos, a rivalry that is full of angst and hate.

The script is all there, the Raiders simply need to follow it and put on one final performance for the loyal fan base that they chose to abandon.

Although the win would hurt their draft stock, I’m sure the fans in Oakland could care less at this point.
