3. Seattle Seahawks

Last week the Seahawks could have locked in their spot in the playoffs with a win over the San Francisco 49ers. Seemed easy enough at the time, but the 49ers had another idea.

In a knock-down, drag-out fight that ended up in overtime, the 49ers upset the Seahawks on a game-winning field goal. With that kick, the Seahawks had to wait one more week to learn the fate of their season.

This week the scenario is a bit more complex, it is no longer a “win and you’re in” scenario. Now, the Seahawks need some help in addition to a win. Assuming the Seahawks win, they would need either the Minnesota Vikings or the Washington Redskins to lose.

This week the Seahawks host the AFC leading Kansas City Chiefs. Needless to say, that is not an easy match up and the Seahawks would have been much better off taking care of business against the 49ers.

However Russell Wilson should not be underestimated as he is always capable of making something out of nothing.

Although the Chiefs are the favorites in this one, there is so much on the line for both sides that it will be much closer than people may think. A win would put them that much closer to the playoffs, but it would also be a huge vote of confidence.

Beating one of, if not, the best team in the AFC would be a tremendous momentum builder heading into Week 17 and the playoffs.
