DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 23, 2018
High Value PG
Players costing $6,250 or under
Jordan Clarkson (vs CHI – $5,900): Needs 27 fantasy points. Clarkson has been over 30 fantasy points in four of his last five games. He’s gotten big minutes for the Cavaliers and he always has the green light to shoot the ball. The Cavaliers need scoring from someone and Clarkson has been the guy who has carried the torch recently. And now he gets the Bulls. He should be in for another big night. Diagnosis: Great ceiling and matchup. Red hot.
Tyus Jones (at OKC – $4,300): Needs 19.8 fantasy points. This could be all about the circumstances. If Derrick Rose and Jeff Teague are unable to play, it will be Jones who picks up the bulk of the minutes. He handled himself well as the starter last season and is at a good enough salary to where he should easily hit value. And with the minutes he’s likely to get, expect a strong outing. Diagnosis: Take with confidence if Rose and Teague are out.
De’Anthony Melton (at BKN – $3,700): Needs 17.1 fantasy points. The Suns just played a triple OT game where their top guys played a lot of minutes. I can’t imagine that they’ll have much left in the tank for this game and they could rest guys just as a precautionary measure. If nothing else, I don’t see them playing big minutes. That means plenty of minutes for a guy like Melton. He’s shown a high ceiling this season. Diagnosis: Great circumstances. He’ll produce if I’m right about the rest.
