30. . Offensive Tackle. Alabama. Jonah Williams. 3. player

The New York Jets traded up in the 2018 NFL Draft to select USC quarterback Sam Darnold, who was given the keys to the car in Week 1 of the 2018 NFL season. Darnold proceeded to have a monster game against the Detroit Lions in Week 1, shredding their secondary, and showing flashes of what the next 15 years could look like for Gang Green.

Unfortunately, good games for Darnold, and the Jets were few and far between in 2018, and they will now pick at No. 3 for the second straight year. Last year, they got Darnold, and in 2019, they should look to bring in a player who can protect his blind side for at least the next five seasons inside Metlife Stadium.

The best offensive tackle in the 2019 draft class is Jonah Williams, who is a guy that can certainly stay on the left side at the next level. He is a huge reason why the Alabama Crimson Tide are once again in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, and would be an instant starter on a very mediocre Jets offensive line.

Darnold has all the makings to be a legitimate franchise quarterback in the NFL, but he cannot afford to take the kind of hits he did in year one. We have seen what extended hits can do to a first round quarterbacks career, and if the Jets do not do something to address their deficiencies up front this offseason, it could be another long year for the franchise.
