Oakland Raiders

With three picks in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft, no team controls the board like the Oakland Raiders. With a roster that is barren on talent, those three picks will be extremely valuable. They own the fourth, 24th and 27th picks in the first round.

The latter two picks came from the Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper trades respectively.

The Raiders are undergoing a massive overhaul. They make this list because coach Jon Gruden is calling the shots now for the team. He has been quiet on his commitment to quarterback Derek Carr moving forward. If they move on from Carr, the selection of Murray would be wise.

With the fourth pick in the draft, and the three teams ahead of them having franchise quarterbacks, Oakland has a strangle-hold on this quarterback class. If they deem Murray the best of the bunch, he’ll be the pick.

Gruden is known as a quarterback coach, or at least ESPN thought enough of that they gave him a show to do it. Murray would be a litmus test for Gruden as an undersized, hyper-athletic player that he has never coached before.

This not only will provide Gruden with a quarterback he can call his own, but also ignites the passionate fan base ahead of their move to Las Vegas. Sin City may play a role in this as well.

What better way to sell the team to the new fans of Nevada than with a former Heisman Trophy winner who will provide electricity every time the ball is in his hands. He can be the Raiders instant offense for a team that has no other true building blocks on that side of the ball.
