High Salary PG

Players costing over $6,667

Kemba Walker (at MEM – $9,000): Needs 38.2 fantasy points. A quick note on Kyrie Irving who I love on most nights and recognize that he has a high ceiling and is probably reliable. But the Celtics should blowout the Cavaliers and that’s likely to limit Kyrie’s overall ceiling. Still, going against Kyrie right now feels foolish. As for Kemba, he’s been reliable and was very good against Memphis last season, averaging 48 fantasy points in two games. It’s a different Memphis squad but also a pretty broken Memphis squad. So Kemba should get his and then some. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Kris Dunn (vs ATL – $7,400): Needs 31.4 fantasy points. I’m torn between Dunn and Young. And I’m torn on this matchup. It should feature plenty off offense, bad offense but still offense, so both point guards have high ceilings. But neither point guard is all that reliable and this could turn into an ugly affair of bad basketball were neither team looks good. Young has the higher ceiling. Dunn is slightly more reliable flip a coin between the two. Diagnosis: One of Dunn or Young is likely to hit big. I can’t decide which one but I’m leaning towards Dunn.

Jamal Murray (at UTA – $6,900): Needs 29.3 fantasy points. You sort of know what you’re getting with Murray and that’s not a bad thing. And his salary has dropped to a level that I love. His scoring numbers are there and he’ll always chip in with assists and a few rebounds. It’s a tough matchup but the Nuggets are one of the top teams in the league for a reason. And Murray’s steady play is most definitely a reason. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.
