4. Trey Flowers, DE New England Patriots

Finding a pass rusher to benefit Leonard Williams may be the biggest need for the Jets this offseason. Williams has struggled on his own but adding a true edge rusher will benefit him mightily.

Williams has been moved from defensive end to defensive tackle throughout his career, but it would seem as though Gregg Williams may want to move him back outside under his classic 4-3 scheme. Therefore, adding Flowers on the opposite side of Williams would automatically give the Jets some serious outside edge rushers.

Flowers has quietly been a consistent, productive player up in New England with the Patriots. He has collected 21 sacks in 46 games for the Pats, including a career-high 7.5 in 2018.

One of the reasons Flowers should be targeted too is because he is only 25 years old. Meaning, he has room to improve and grow. Playing under the very disciplined style of Bill Belichick is also beneficial to Flowers and his potential suitors because you know you’re getting a player that will be focused.

Playing for the Pats and under Belichick helps too because Flowers can bring leadership and experience to a young Jets team. According to Spotrac.com, he has a current market value around $15 million per year.
