Wide Receiver. Ole Miss. D.K. Metcalf. 22. player. 26.

For most of the 2018 NFL season, it looked like the Pittsburgh Steelers were going to run away with the AFC North. Armed with one of the best rosters in the conference, the Steelers got out to a big lead in the division, but it all faded away late in the season, and the Baltimore Ravens ended up winning the division.

After an injury to starting quarterback Joe Flacco, the Baltimore Ravens inserted rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson under center, tapping the No. 32 overall selection in the 2018 NFL draft. All Jackson did once inserted into the lineup was lead his team to victories, and in the end, the Ravens were the kings of the AFC North.

Heading into next season, the Ravens have to figure out what they’re going to do with Flacco, who still has some time left on his current deal. The team has already committed to Jackson as their quarterback moving forward, and they would be wise to utilize the NFL Draft to bring in some talent at the wide receiver position.

One player who should be an exciting first round selection at the wideout position is D.K. Metcalf from Ole Miss. Though a knee injury ended his season early, Metcalf declared early for the 2019 NFL Draft, and has all the makings to be an elite wide receiver at the NFL level. Jackson needs as many weapons as he can to further his development, and Metcalf certainly fits that bill.
