Left for dead once again this season, the Philadelphia Eagles saw starting quarterback Carson Wentz go down to a season-ending injury late in the season. Enter Nick Foles, who once again led his team to a deep playoff run, and nearly led them back to the NFC Championship Game for the second straight season.

Although the Eagles will eventually lose in the Divisional Round to the New Orleans Saints, the fact is that this is a team should be a perennial playoff contender for years to come. They have made the decision to stick with Wentz as their starting quarterback moving forward, and will likely move on from Foles, who is slated to make $20 million next season as the teams back-up quarterback.

When it comes to the 2019 NFL Draft, the Eagles have a couple of holes on the roster that they need to fix, and one happens to be upfront on the offensive line. Jason Peters has been a Hall of Fame offensive tackle for many years, but he is getting up there in age, and the team has to start looking at what they are going to do when he finally hangs up his cleats.

One player who they should look to target this late in round one is Jawaan Taylor, a big tackle from the University of Florida who certainly could stay on the left side of the NFL level. If Peters can groom Taylor over the next season, he could be inserted to protect Wentz’s blindside for the next 10 seasons, giving the Eagles a solid transition away from one of the best tackles we’ve seen in a while.
