1. QB Nick Foles (Philadelphia Eagles)

As of this writing, Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles was slated to become an unrestricted free agent when the NFL’s new fiscal year begins on the afternoon of March 13. That’s because the seven-year signal-caller recently bought out his option (via NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport).

With the Jaguars expecting to move on from five-year performer Blake Bortles and the team hiring a new offensive coordinator in John DeFilippo, who is more than familiar with Foles’ work, it all makes a lot of sense for the 2012 third-round draft choice from the University of Arizona to be reunited with is quarterbacks coach in Philadelphia in ’17.

Of course, the Birds could throw a little bit of a monkey wrench in the works if the team opts to give the quarterback the franchise tag. It would simply be done so that the Eagles could force a team to make a trade and Philadelphia could get some kind of compensation for a player that helped them reach the playoffs each of these past two seasons and was a pivotal part of the franchise’s first NFL title since 1960.

Things could get very interesting in a few weeks when the Eagles have to make a decision to tag Foles. In any case, be in via free agency or a trade, it would perfect sense for the Jaguars to add this proven performer and one with plenty of postseason experience these past two years.
