Last offseason, the Jacksonville Jaguars opted to revise their pass catching corps. They cut ties with wide receiver Allen Hurns and tight end Marcedes Lewis, who wound up joining the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers, respectively. Wideout Allen Robinson, who missed the final 15 games of 2017 with a knee injury, opted for free agency and signed with the Chicago Bears. Meanwhile, the club used a second-round pick on D.J. Chark. And in free agency, the Jaguars added one-time Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Donte Moncrief via a one-year deal.

Of course, who knew that the Doug Marrone’s team would lose Marqise Lee to a season-ending knee injury in August? Dede Westbrook would wind up leading the team in catches (66), receiving yards (717) and touchdown grabs (5). Running back T.J. Yeldon finished second in receptions (55) and TD catches (4). And Moncrief, who signed only a one-year deal, averaged 13.9 yards on his 48 receptions and scores three times.

Barring any setbacks, Lee is expected back this season. And it is certainly possible Moncrief could be re-signed. But one-time Arizona Cardinals’ burner John Brown could be a very intriguing addition to an offense that only scored 15 times through the air in 2018. In his first season with the Baltimore Ravens, he led John Harbaugh’s squad with five touchdown grabs and averaged an impressive 17 yards on his 42 catches. Could the big-play performer be an option for Jacksonville?
