3. Tyrod Taylor (Cleveland Browns)

It’s hardly such a surprise to see the former sixth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens on this list. Tyrod Taylor has adequately filled the spots with the teams that he has played for. And while he struggled the first three weeks of the season with this newest employer, it was also obviously only a matter of time before the Cleveland Browns opted for the first overall pick in April’s draft.

Cleveland Browns’ quarterback Baker Mayfield would go on to set a rookie record for touchdown passes in a season (27). And that means Taylor is a free agent for the first time since ‘15, when the Buffalo Bills added him to their roster in and he helped guide the team to the playoffs in his third season with the club.

Taylor would start the first three games in ’18 before being yanked about midway through that third start on a Thursday night in favor of Mayfield. He would appear in one more game but the future is obviously now in Cleveland.

Dating back to 2015 and including Buffalo’s 10-3 loss to the Jaguars in the ’17 AFC Wild Card Playoffs, Taylor has thrown 53 TD passes and run for 15 more scores in 49 outings (47 starts) with the Bills and Browns. He’s turned over the ball only 24 times over that span. He may not necessarily be the long-term solution for a team. But his style of play could help more than a handful of teams looking for some help at the position.
