No.4: T. J. Yeldon, Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville’s second or third back, depending on whom you ask, makes the list because of his versatility and upside. The former second-round pick has showcased his ability to run and pass since entering the league in 2015.

Yeldon has compiled at least 750 total yards in three of his four seasons. That includes his rookie campaign, where he eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark. In total, he has gained 3,174 yards from scrimmage.

Last season, the running back depth chart in Jacksonville was crowded. Aside from Yeldon, it included Leonard Fournette and Carlos Hyde. Fournette only played in eight games because of injury, which led to more touches for Yeldon and Hyde.

With that being said, Hyde led the group with 571 yards and five scores. But, Yeldon was the only back on the team to average 4.0 yards per carry. Both Fournette and Hyde only averaged 3.3 yards per carry. Yeldon also led the group in receptions (55), receiving yards (487) and total yards (901).

To put Yeldon’s receiving statistics into perspective, he ranked 13th among running backs in receptions and was 11th in receiving yards. It is evident that Yeldon is more valuable as receiver, which will make him a great second option.

Yeldon is also listed as the youngest unrestricted free agent running back. Meaning, the team that signs him will be adding a player who may have the most room for improvement.

More importantly, whichever team decides to ink Yeldon won’t be breaking the bank for a guy who can make an immediate impact, if he is in the right situation.
