The Raw and SmackDown brands are getting shuffled again and this time, it’s “international.”

For the third straight year, the post-WrestleMania period for the WWE will feature a Superstar Shake-up, the promotion’s way of mixing up the two main-brand rosters of Monday Night Raw and Tuesday’s SmackDown Live (as well as bring up new stars from NXT, cruiserweights from 205 Live and talent from its other brands). This time, WWE is labeling the event as “international.”

The news sort-of broke on Monday night, when John Pollock of Post Wrestling tweeted out a commercial that aired in Canada during Raw that advertised the Shake-up for April 15 and 16, when Raw and SmackDown Live will be taking place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. And on Friday, WWE made the announcement official on its website.

There’s no indication that the “international” qualifier means the Shake-up will involve non-North American talent, such as members of the NXT UK roster, or if it’s simply in reference to the Canadian venue for the two-day affair. But there is an added layer of intrigue just over a week after WWE’s biggest event of the year.

With SmackDown’s Becky Lynch challenging Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania (and SmackDown moving to FOX and/or FS1 later this year), a great number of key Superstars could be jumping brands. The key will be to see how WWE can manage fans’ expectations, Superstars’ ongoing and newly-formed storylines while helping, and not hurting, their already struggling television ratings.

Take a look at the WWE’s video announcement below.
