2. John Brown

There were times last season where it looked like the Baltimore Ravens got one of the steals of the NFL offseason by signing John Brown. He was insane the first few weeks of the season, and it looked like the Ravens finally had an offensive weapon they could trust. Then, Joe Flacco got hurt, Lamar Jackson took over, and nothing was ever the same for Brown.

This is probably a little high for most people’s likings for John Brown, but he became a proven deep threat over the first two months of the season. Brown is another player who has a 1,000-yard season on the books, but it was a few years ago with the Arizona Cardinals. He was well on his way last season, posting 558 over his first seven games as a Raven. With Jackson at quarterback, he never broke 30 yards in a game. It seemed like they would make sense on paper, with Brown’s speed and Jackson’s rocket of an arm, but the focus on the running game never allowed them to build chemistry.

Brown went from a sure-fire re-sign to almost certainly playing for his third team next season. There are literally dozens of teams that would take his services for the price. He’s a legit deep threat who’s proven that in the right situation he can excel. He will make a great backup plan for whichever team goes after DeSean Jackson and doesn’t get him.

Ironically, the Buccaneers could be a really good fit for Brown. Jameis Winston could use his deep threat ability, while also having someone more reliable in Mike Evans on the other side.
