NFL Mock Draft: Where will Kyler Murray land?
6. New York Giants – Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
The Giants passed on quarterbacks last year to take Offensive Rookie of the Year, Saquon Barkley, but they shouldn’t pass this year. Dwayne Haskins is the best passer in the draft and can benefit from sitting behind Eli Manning to learn the offense and acclimate to the NFL speed until he’s ready or until the Giants have seen enough of Manning.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars – Jonah Williams, OT/OG, Alabama
The Jaguars are likely to move on from Blake Bortles but they won’t take a rookie at this point. Look for them to address their quarterback needs via free agency or trade and give the quarterback some help at this point. Jonah Williams was a three-year starter at left tackle but could have a home at guard in the NFL.
8. Detroit Lions – Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson
The Lions are expected to lose former first-round pick Ezekiel Ansah in free agency so defensive end is a big need. Clelin Ferrell was a standout on a loaded Clemson line that was instrumental in winning two of the last three national championships. The reigning ACC Defensive Player of the Year dominated Williams in the title game.
9. Buffalo Bills – Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida
The Bills need to protect Josh Allen and Jawaan Taylor is going to be his personal protector and keep him healthy and upright. Taylor is going to be a big riser in the pre-draft process.
10. Denver Broncos – Drew Lock, QB, Missouri
The Broncos have Case Keenum as a stop-gap but John Elway needs to address the position with a viable long-term solution. Lock put up big numbers in his four seasons at Missouri and has the arm talent needed to survive and thrive in the NFL.
