3. Earl Thomas, FS

Thomas might be coming off an injury-plagued season, but at 30 years old, he’s still one of the best safeties available in free agency. He has spent the past nine years with the Seattle Seahawks, and in that time, he’s totaled 664 tackles, 68 pass deflections, 28 interceptions, two defensive touchdowns, and 10 forced fumbles. His 2018 season was cut short when he broke his leg in the Seahawks’ Week 4 match against the Arizona Cardinals, but he still managed to total three interceptions in four games, including two in one game against the Dallas Cowboys.

With Landon Collins likely on his way out, and the Giants looking to improve their defense overall, Thomas should definitely be on their radar. It’s highly unlikely that he stays in Seattle. He’s definitely looking for a big payday, and he runs the risk of struggling in a new defensive scheme.

At 30, he’s also a short-term investment and has a higher risk of injury. But considering the weakness for the Giants at the safety position, and the struggles of their defense overall, they should be open to an investment in a leader like Thomas.
