Houston. Ed Oliver. 14. player. 44. . Defensive Tackle

The Atlanta Falcons were one of those NFC teams that really disappointed last season, as they failed to make the playoffs only two years removed from going to the Super Bowl. After blowing a monster lead in that Super Bowl against New England, it has been downhill ever since, as the barely made the playoffs in 2017, and failed to make it in 2018.

After the 2018 campaign, the team got rid of a lot of the coaching staff, but decided to hang on to head coach Dan Quinn. With their first round pick, the Falcons may choose to stay on the defensive line for the second time in three years, after drafting edge rusher Takkarist McKinley back in 2017.

Despite the fact they recently franchise tagged Grady Jarrett, one of the better defensive tackles in the NFL, the Falcons may want to add Ed Oliver with their first round pick in April. Oliver is a guy who may head his name called way before the No. 14 overall pick, but if he is there for Atlanta, imagine teaming him with Jarrett on the inside.

Atlanta still has elite talent on both sides of the ball, and they should be a team that is in the running for a playoff spot next season. They have to get better on defense if they hope to get back to the top of the NFC South, because the New Orleans Saints are not going anywhere any time soon.
