87. . Edge. Clemson. Clelin Ferrell. 16. player

The Carolina Panthers have concerns heading into 2019, and none is bigger than the right arm of quarterback Cam Newton. Carolina had to shut down Newton towards the end of the season, and the hope is the added rest will help him go into the 2019 campaign at full strength, because this team needs him badly.

When it comes time for the Panthers to draft in April, they will be picking in the middle of the first round, which is incredible when  you consider how bad they were in the second half of the season. Carolina lost seven of their last eight games, and probably would have lost the season finale if Drew Brees started for the New Orleans Saints.

With their first round pick, the Panthers have to get better off the edge, especially now that Julius Peppers has decided to hang up his cleats. The likely Hall of Famer was so good at making plays in the backfield, so it would make sense that the Panthers would look to bring in a player to fill his shoes in April.

Enter Clelin Ferrell, who some believe is a top-10 talent, but also could be available when the Panthers make their first round selection at No. 16 overall. Ferrell was a dominant edge rusher at Clemson, leading the team to two national  titles, and should be able to make serious impact in year one at the NFL level.
