Round 2 – No Pick

The Jets traded their 2019 second-round pick in the trade that moved them up last year to draft Sam Darnold.

Round 3 – Pick 68

Yodny Cajuste, T, West Virginia

Without recouping that second round pick, the Jets are in a pickle. Luckily they have two third round picks to use at their disposal. As previously stated, the Jets are in a good spot overall because where there is depth in the class at wide receiver and offensive line, are two areas the team needs to address.

Yodny Cajuste of West Virginia would make a ton of sense for them in round three. Cajuste was getting some first round buzz before the end of the college football season. While he did not do anything in particular to hurt his stock, he got surpassed by some other players and it is the reason he’s available at the top of round three here.

He brings starter potential to the Jets who are in need of help at tackle. They already fixed a guard spot with a veteran and now dip into the draft for their tackle. Cajuste needs some work to play like the athlete he shows at times more consistently. However he fits the power game the Jets look to be building as a long arm people mover at the tackle spot. With some work on his footwork he could be a staple for a good offensive line and a blind spot protector for the team’s young quarterback.
