Christian Wilkins. 14. player. 44. . Defensive Lineman. Clemson

The Atlanta Falcons were one of the NFC teams that really disappointed in 2018, as they failed to make the playoffs only two years removed from making the Super Bowl. After the 2018 season, they fired a bunch of their coaches, but decided to hang on to head coach Dan Quinn, who will be responsible with righting this ship in 2019.

On offense, the Falcons still have some of the better playmakers in football, although they will have to find a way to replace running back Tevin Coleman. Up front on defense, the Falcons could look to improve with their first round pick, and Christian Wilkins from Clemson is one of the more dominant defensive tackles in this draft class.

Atlanta placed the franchise tag on Grady Jarrett, so he is locked up for at least the 2019 NFL season. Jarrett is an elite defensive tackle, and is a huge part of this Falcons defense, but Wilkins could be a long-term solution if Jarrett walks next offseason.

Even with Jarrett last season,  this Falcons defense was nothing to write home about, and they need reinforcements up front. Wilkins is a guy who could be a backbone of this defense for years to come, and if they do get Jarrett to re-up after the season, imagine that tandem up front in Atlanta.
