2019 NFL mock draft: Drew Lock heads to Broncos
By Brad Weiss
The New York Giants had been rumored to be wanting to move on from Odell Beckham Jr. this offseason, and they pulled the trigger on a monster deal on Tuesday night. The deal sends OBJ to the Cleveland Browns from the Browns No. 17 overall pick in 2019, the Browns second third round pick this April, and safety Jabrill Peppers.
During his time in New York, Beckham established himself as one of the premier wide receivers in football, and now he joins a Cleveland team that is definitely pointing in the right direction. The Giants will now have to replace incredible production, and with the Browns No. 17 overall pick, they could bring in Oklahoma’s Marquise Brown.
Brown is a guy who proved to be the elite wide receiver in college football during his time with the Sooners, catching balls from two Heisman Trophy winning quarterbacks. In this mock, Brown heads to the Big Apple, where he will join an offense that features on of the best running backs in football in Saquon Barkley, who dominated in year one in 2018.
Peppers will also fill an immediate need for the Giants, who let Landon Collins walk in free agency this offseason. The Giants have been making head-scratching moves so far this offseason, and while Beckham’s trade came as a shock, it had been appearing for a while that his time in New York was coming to an end.
