6. Kentucky

One of the keys to finding teams to safely get to the second weekend is looking for coaches with tremendous experience getting there. Kentucky’s John Calipari certainly fits the bill, having taken the Wildcats to the Sweet 16 in six of his seven appearances in the dance since taking over in 2009.

The Wildcats are also rounding into form right now with Reid Travis returning from a knee injury along with freshmen Tyler Herro and Keldon Johnson stepping up to help P.J. Washington on the offensive end. Kentucky did lose in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament to Tennessee, but that shouldn’t be a detriment to the Wildcats’ chances of making it out of Jacksonville.

The Wildcats earned a no. 2 seed in the Midwest region and have a winnable matchup against Abilene Christian before dealing with the winner of the 7-10 matchup between Wofford and Seton Hall. That second game could be tricky, especially if it ends up being against the Terriers, but history says you should bet on Kentucky finding their way to Kansas City.
